CAN YOU HANDLE IT ?
YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED, PROCEED AT YOUR OWN RISK
The main reason we didn't go out is mostly due to assignments, both CPL and FA3 had to be handed up at the same day ! caused me alot of headache, to add oil into the fire, my studies were already lagging and this made it to lag further.
To be honest, I didn't do it properly (hence the name of the entry title) but if I had started earlier, I would have definitely done it with a clearer understanding. But unfortunately, procrastination is in my blood and I just don't seem to learn my lesson after so many assignments XD oh well, whats done is done, time to move on ! will promise to start my QM early ! hopefully, (SEE ? I don't seem to learn !) Oh by the way, we even stopped Photohunting
Then the LABs (Lame Accounting Bunch, did I get it correct ? lol) have been in a bad luck streak lately, Shannon fell down the stairs (actually, she slided down and bounced XD lol) ,which caused her bum to be imbalanced, now one side is smaller jor, then she fell for the second time near Subway, now its balanced again! Elaine ter-locked her car keys inside her car due to some technical problems of her car, I slipped and fell near TBS and the top part of my wrist was bleeding ! took me quite long to recover and Le Wayne was stranded in some island.....I mean, she was stranded beside a highway (I think) because Gim Keat's car was out of fuel while they were heading for Taylors.
Wow, each of the four of us got into somekind of 'disaster' due to some natural occurances, its like we're CURSED !................cept maybe the last one lah...cuz that is definitely man-made XD
So, now that Confession/Ranting session is over, lets go to the happy stuff ! ^_^
Nigel treated us to pool the other day, Elaine and I went to learn the ways of pool from Nigel and....We were supposed to be newbies, But check Elaine out !
This is only called yeng ! We had a great time, will play more when we have the free time and some extra cash cuz its ...pretty expensive !
NOW ITS RANDOM TIME !
Something about this sight makes me happy, must be the nice shade of green and white !
RANDOM TIME OVER !
Then yesterday, my dad tried to cook Cordon Bleu, Pan fried Salmon and Crinkle-cut fries since my sister is coming back to have dinner, its only the three of us since bro is not having his dinner at home as usual and mom went to berjalan-jalan cari makan in Penang with her friends. This is the magnum opus of my dad's western cooking!
Basically, the chicken meat is wrapped with slices of cheese (kraft cheese will do), then it is coated with egg , flour and its off to the frying wok ! the end result is you get overflowing cheesey goodness XD and next time remember to squirt some lemon juice to the salmon, because it really brings out the flavour !RANDOM TIME OVER !

Mmmm..its was great ! the three of us cleared up everything in the picture.....cept the plates of course !
Then on the 22nd of August I went to the Popular Bookfair in KLCC with my sister and my brother in-law (still finding problems to call him brother-in law in Cantonese, it just sounds weird) the downside is there is alot of ppl (with the H1N1 thingy) and you'll have to pay RM2 just to get in -.-
Whoa, there were millions of books o_O but the ones I wanted to find cheap wasn't there, there were special appearances, book talks, game booths, computer peripherals, CD/DVD booths and every section you can imagine it will be there. Just going in there and picking out a random book will make you look smart XD
Oh yea, and I saw Nicholas Teo ! just a few inches away from me, and he is super skinny.
Sometimes, you can get great deals there, especially the old CDs and DVDs, some tend to be very cheap while the books ? they do have discounts but some are subjected to conditions and...you'll only get around 25% off, but some books are like RM 50, so in the end it is still pretty expensive. But of course, if its a book worth getting, 25% is a pretty good bargain.
So when I went in, I have to turn into Yap Ze Ling mode......cuz then I'll be CALCULATIVE lol
Here are some of the stuff that I bought !
My Haul
Jay Chou 2007 the World Tours DVD+CD+Picture book - RM9.90
Omg, this is like one of the treasures I found in there, because this was priced at around RM 70+ when it first came out, granted I'm not a big fan of his but, if its for Rm9.90 its a steal ! the inner Yap Ze Ling told me to buy it right away XD not to mention the cover looks pretty cool. Since I know quite a majority of his songs in this concert, so its a pretty good buy, cept that its abit blur, which I'm surprised since its supposed to be official o_O.
Battle Royale 1&2 DVD - RM 11.90
Always wanted to watch this but didn't have the chance, a controversial and violent film, I have a vague idea of the plot but not really sure until I watch it. So now its like 2 in 1 and pretty cheap, I decided to pick it up and Tatsuya Fujiwara from Deathnote is in.
Kamen Rider Black 1~52 episodes & Black RX 1~47 episodes - RM 35.90
Kamen Rider ! or better known as Baja Hitam to Malaysians/Indonesians (Black Fertilizer ? I...never understood what Baja meant cept for fertilizer) or the Cantonese calls them Wu Ying Chiu Yan (Fly Superman), now...its close, but it is still messed up because it was never based on a fly but a Grasshopper.
Since Black is a popular series among rider fans, I thought I'll just buy it and watch, the subtitles are not perfect, but its good enough to understand what is going on. RX is a sequel to Black, and good thing is they bundled it together and sold it for RM35.90, usually just one box set could go to RM50.
So the YZL mode in me just screams
"Wow, if I get this, it means its Rm35.90/2 which then mean its RM 18 per box set OMG, with 99 episodes in total, then its RM0.36 per episode ! OH EMM GEE !"
Okay...granted YZL doesn't talk like that, only bimbos do, just trying to dramatize things XD sorry Ze ling !
So enough said, I bought it, OHH EMM GEE.
Antique Globe - RM 19.90
Bought this for a friend, its a long story. and it actually looks pretty nice ! only if it was bigger I would have bought one for myself but, you know ...globes or world maps can really burn a hole in your pocket, because they are really expensive, this one was supposed to be RM49.90 and its a small one. But I need one cuz I'm quite ignorant about where the other countries are at since the our education system is just so obsessed with our own country so we only learnt Geography about ourselves.
*Gasp* Our Country ! is on the world map ! but usually for the wrong reasons....lately CNN was reporting about the Beng Hock case o_O
My mom also bought something !
JENG JENG, The Best of Teresa Teng collection - RM49.90 - 8 discs
so its around RM 6.23 per CD which is..like cheaper than pirated ones and it comes with a beautiful magnetic box !
she puts it in front of my sister's wedding photo ! and blocks it from view o_O
Lol, of course she didn't do it intentionally lah lol
Then of course you must be thinking
"Jeff, you're in a bookfair...Why do I only see CDs after DVDs and then....a Globe ?"
Well, partly because the books are still pretty expensive there, and I forgot to copy down the list of books that I need -_______- ...aiz...absent-minded me.
But have no fear ! I bought one book !
Rich dad's Increase your Financial IQ by Robert Kiyosaki - RM 29.90
Well, I was looking forward to getting his other books there, I thought it would be cheaper, but there isn't any except this, which was on promotion, so I just bought it without actually knowing what was it about (I just browsed abit), but what I do know is that Rich dad's advices are always valuable and I'm pretty sure this is no different.
To be frank, way way back in the years I initially thought self-help books were for losers (hahaha no lar...not to that extent) I wouldn't have read self-help books if it was not for my friend who lent me one and discovered that they are pretty damn good and enlightening ! People who don't read them are missing out on alot of things. Trust me on this.
I'm currently going through Dale Carnegie's How to win friends and influence people which Vernon lent to me, and my God, it is like the Bible to to Interpersonal skills, it points out the obvious but people just tend to forget these simple stuff. If everyone reads that book, this world would be a better place, I'm serious XD.
Yup, thats it, only one book, it should be renamed into "Disc Fair" instead
------------------------------
Now on to a more personal purchase, its not from the Bookfair though.
Its the new album of my favourite artiste ! the fans waited for three long years, its finally out !
it costed RM 54 because its imported, from Taiwan I think, luckily I shared the cost with my brother.
Lol, of course she didn't do it intentionally lah lol

Oh how long I have waited for you ! she is so sexy I had to hold her in my hands
Take pictures of her from every angle
And she is imported ! XD
Not to mention she is also fragile
and I'll give her all the space she needs !

OH MY GOD ! "She" is a GUY !
Okay enough of lameness, gonna be serious from here on.
Oh wow, damn...this guy is vain ! he is everywhere ! XD, this is the paper that was used to wrap the album. Not to mention the wrapping is just way cool, I like it when they do something to the packaging of the album, instead of the generic LOOK AT MY PRETTY BOY/GIRL FACE type, but its industry practice so...Its no different in this album too, but its at the inside.
This is the inside of the booklet that contains lyrics, credits, thank you notes, and some events of the entertainment industry that happened in 1969 (I'm not too sure, I only took a glance). The dates that are scattered around his head as you can see here is used for this purpose,

Take the transparency that is filled with his entries...
Put it on top of the dates and voila ! now you can trace the date and read what he wrote !
It can be applied to other pages too, also filled with other dates.
Here is his first single from the album, "Zero to Hero"
This would be a really weird song if this is the first time you heard his work, but, after so many years in the music industry, its okay to have some fun because this is such a FUN song, weird at first listening, but after that...its pretty good !
There are two versions of his MV, this one is the "Musical ver." the arrangement is different from the original arrangement, a slower, relaxed version...and to be honest I like this ver. more ! he did say this song was influenced by Glam Rock, but he is probably refering to the original version of the song, but it is very subtle. but the arrangement in this Musical ver. is takes that all away I think (if my interpretation of Glam Rock is right la)
Basically this MV is about how a normal guy like him appears at work late, gets scolded by his superior and gets bossed around, telling him to to be sharper/smarter, then making him do lots of work, him trying to do all the hectic work, slipped and fell. Then it bursts into some sort of Musical with cheesy dance moves XD which is funny I might add.
Then from Zero, he turns into a Hero, hence the name of the song, getting the courage and guts to stand up against his superior, to say NO to the Devil ! (its in the lyrics XD the devil being the boss) and one of the lines is "I'm not your TAMAGO !"
Yup XD you heard right, he is refering to the Japanese sweet omlette that we eat in Sushi restaurants. To my interpretation, he is probably saying that "I'm not your tamago, don't think you can cook we however you like " ...at least that is what I think lol
Back to the song, the chinese name of this song (yes its a different meaning from Zero to Hero) is from the name of a plane in a Japanese anime called Kagaku Ninjatai Gatchaman (Science Ninja Team Gatchaman) in the 70s, which is also appropriate because the album is influenced by the music of 60's and 70's. The theme of this song is that anybody with a simple background/dream/ideal or someone insignificant/unimportance can take off and fly like a superhero and make their break, do their own thing and stand out from the crowd. Doesn't that sound like its out of an Anime ?
This is a song of encouragement that uses simple lyrics and borrows Japanese words, its wacky but full of fun with quite meaningful lyrics.
Here is the original version :
Hmmm not exactly your type of song ? try this ! another song from his latest album, the song titled Adoration.
Still not convinced ? then try this, its from his older album, I'm sure you know this song, if you don't I don't know where you're from lol.
Yup so thats about it, sorry about the looooooong personal post lol, after all these purchases ...I'm broke ! but I still have to put up a face so that no one will know *evil smirk*
Can't read my, can't read my
Nobody can't read my POKAI face !
Po-po-po-pokai face, po-po-pokai face !
(Mum mum mum mah)
Goodnight ! Agent J signing off *salutes and takes off*

Not to mention it comes with a post card and a Poster !
Oh woops, did I forget to mention his name ? Haha, his name is David Tao or Tao Zhe, singer-songwriter and soon to be director which helped to popularize R&B/Soul/Rock over to the Chinese music industry. Spent part of his childhood in Hong Kong, Taiwan and then his family migrated to America. Interesting fact is, he took on many jobs in America to sustain his lifestyle and one of the jobs was a policeman in the LAPD ! which his parents didn't know because they were back in Taiwan and left him there XD
He did express dissapointment and losing faith in the Chinese music industry because of the Pretentious music awards, Fixed music charts which I think is pretty true. The chinese uses the term "Fan chu yuk" which literally means "giving out a share of the pork", everybody that attends usually will have an award and those that doesn't nope...not at all, this is the reason why David did not get the Best Male Vocalist if I'm not wrong after all these years, because he refused to attend after he realized the fact the award shows are meaningless and is just for show.
However, they did give him some side awards la, just to give face, but he is always not there to take it XD
and this is his latest album, titled Opus 69, why 69 ?
-Its his 6th Album and 9th CD
-He was born on 1969
-Its the symbol of his Zodiac sign cancer if 69 is tilted sideways
-In I-ching 6 and 9 symbolizes Change and Rebirth
-And when the numbers are pronounced in Japanese it sounds like "Rock"
because 6 is Roku and 9 is Kyuu ....shouldn't it be Rock You instead o_O ?
Pretty cool I'd say !
I've yet to listen to the album though, but there is a few songs I've alerady heard.
